7mm:ft Scale, O Gauge

The town of Westerham was served by a branch line which left the South Eastern mainline at Dunton Green, just to the north of Sevenoaks. The line was closed under the Beeching cuts of the 1960's and now much of the track bed is buried under the M25 motorway.

The layout, which made its exhibition debut at Tonbridge in 2014, show the station in preservation if the scheme was successful and reflects on how the station was during the 1950's. Although the trackplan has been simplified to fit the space available, it maintains the character of the old station.

Most of the Locomotives and rolling stock are of Southern origin and are mainly kit built. Buildings on the layout have largely been scratch built from a variety of materials, and are based on those which once stood at the station, hopefully making the layout look familiar to anyone who remembers the original.

This layout has had a very popular reception, being invited to exhibtions each year since constructed. Its next outing is the Beckenham model railway exhibition on October 28th.
